Adult Center

adults in costumesThe Adult Center was established in 1978 and is funded through a variety of sources including The United Way of Greater Chattanooga, Tennessee's Department of Human Services and the Hamilton County Department of Human Services.

The Adult Center's Adults with Disabilities Program services those aged 18 and above. Attendees have the opportunity to socialize while developing, maintaining, or increasing both their work and independent living skills.

The Adult Center's Geriatric Program serves low-income individuals aged 60 and above. Participants in this program engage in activities to enhance their independent living skills, as well, while, at the same time, giving their caregivers the opportunity to maintain a normal day-time work schedule.

Both programs operate from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. and provide a nutritionally-balanced breakfast and lunch.

Both programs of the Adult Center follow a Social Model of treatment.
