The Camps at Signal Centers
Signal Centers Children's Program offers a unique 6-week summer camp for children and youth 3 - 11 years old, of all abilities. Camp Signal offers a quality camp experience while specializing in social and emotional development through fun projects and activities, and provides age-appropriate activities in art, movement, music, crafts, sponsors, water play, games, singing, dancing, drama, science, and technology.
One week before camp also includes a unique opportunity for children with communication challenges to find their voice. All the children use communication devices not only to learn but also "talk" to each other.
Assistive Technology Services also offers Vision Academy to help individuals with no or low vision obtain practical skills for navigating through their daily lives. Vision Academy assists young adults in their journey towards a life of self-sufficiency.
"Aaah summer camp - friendships, recreation, music, exposure to new things. Camp Signal provides a safe yet adventurous experience for children with disabilities, providing special expertise and low camper/staff ratios, and creative activities,” said Donna McConnico, CEO.
The camp is supported, in part, through funding from the City of Chattanooga.
