Frequently asked questions
Choosing the proper facility for your loved one is an incredibly important decision, but it doesn't have to be a stressful one. Before admittance into our program, all families are required to tour the center. Here, they will get to know our staff and are welcome to ask any questions they have. If you don't know what questions to ask, don't worry. We have you covered. The National Adult Day Services Association has a great Site Visit Checklist we recommend all families review prior to meeting with us. It is a great guide to help you feel more confident about your decision to place your loved one in our care.
All our families have varying needs when it comes to schedule and supervision. We have participants who attend one day per week and we have others who attend all five days. During your intake meeting, we can help assess your needs and offer a schedule that best suits your family.
Adult Day Services is designed for individuals who can participate in a 1:8 staff ratio. Our program is not appropriate for those individuals who are at continued risk for elopement from the program, or are in need of one-on-one interaction or supervision. Signal Centers reserves the right to re-assess individuals within the program throughout the year so the program continues to run safely and effectively.
Our number one priority is operating our program safely and effectively. In order to ensure this, all participants need to be able to self-toilet as well as self-administer any medications without needing more than simple assistance from our staff, such as verbal prompts to the restroom.
Yes! We have great partners in our community who host us every month for engaging field trips. Previous outings have included the Hunter Museum of American Art, the Tennessee Aquarium, Spare Time Bowling, and Audubon Acres, just to name a few. Whenever we go out into the community, we enlist volunteers to help with supervision, while making sure our staffing ratios are maintained back at the center for those who choose not to attend field trips.
